It's too cheap.

Seller requests fast payment and contact outside eBay.

No proper photo.

Seller normally sells marine engines.

Last feedback is for marine engine sale in June. But member 'joined' in July...

Auction is only for 24 hours (before eBay catch up with him)

In response to my question the seller says it's an 'unwanted gift'.

Typical scam trail. After all, if you had an 'unwanted' D2X worth £2,300+ would you try to sell it inside 24 hours for £795?

And the auction has now disappeared!

Do you think so? Do such "high end" cameras depreciate so quickly? I know technology moves on - but I'd have thought that with the ability to print to such a large size it would be a long, long time before the camera would become so cheap...

It'll take a few years time to reach £795, but I don't suppose a D2X costs much more to make than a D70 - so the difference must be largely profit. At present they can make it, but competition, the internet and one day a D3X will all take their toll.

My D1X cost £3.5k 3 years ago... they are now on e bay for under £750... and CCD technology is now moving SO fast I reckon my D2X will only be worth £1.5k (ish) in mid 2006

... hey, it's only money - I sold a 911tt at 15 months old so I must be completely stupid.

(words of accountant ringing in ears)

Sounds like a tax loss dodge to me

NB If you ever need to get under that pesky 40% barrier again, why, I'm sure my colleagues will send you some invoices

Not soon, I'm afraid. But I do keep coming back to the Torridon area whenever I can - I use your website as a persuasion tactic with the Mrs!

That'd be great!
