Recommendations for a 2nd TV
Discussion
Hi all
All my current TVs are on stands or similar. Thinking of a new one which I'll aim to wall mount. I assume most can be wall mounted these days?
I've never wall mounted a TV before, I have basic DIY skills and a decent drill so hopefully straight forward.
My current main TV is a 48 or 50 inch lg, which I bought following a recommendation on here. The LG software interface is great.
Looking for some recommendations for a wall mountable smart TV please, ideally with an interface as good as the LG one. Doesn't need to be as large as the main one.. 40 inch maybe?
Are there any good deals on at the moment, any specific model to recommend.
Ideally £300 budget but can stretch a little
Any advice greatly appreciated

I've got a 43" Samsung that was around that price, pretty impressed with it. Only gripe is the HDR isn't very bright so need to switch to Dynamic mode when watching HDR on Disney +, otherwise it's too dark. Apps are good and most importantly the missus is happy with it.
I would say all screens round that size should be wall mountable, just need to think whether you want a flat mount, or adjustable one and what are you going to do with the cables?

Options will be limited, but this 43" from TCL features Android TV and falls exactly within budget

In terms of wall mounting, the biggest question to answer is what are your walls made of? If plasterboard, where are the battens behind the plasterboard (if any!)
You can do a really neat installation with plasterboard, but you do need to make sure the fixings are up to the job. I hid all power and data cables in the wall and managed to mount a 55" plasma (heavy b
d!) with some careful positioning of the bracket to make sure I picked up at least a couple of solid fixing points.
Sony do a couple of quite reasonable 32" sets for circa £250-300 which aren't too bad for a bedroom option

The room is in an extension so it's a breeze block wall with a layer of plaster (seems to be plaster direct into the breeze block rather than plasterboard, it's a 1980s extension on a 1970s houseYou can do a really neat installation with plasterboard, but you do need to make sure the fixings are up to the job.
