Porsche restoration
Discussion
Hello hive mind.
I have a 1985 911 Carrera, I need to find someone to do some work for me, it's not a full restoration job (not be any means) but it's beyond my limited capability.
I need:
- a little body work doing, mainly chips but a few dents
- possible refurb' of four Fuchs wheels (in an unusual black a red enamel combination)
- new electric widow winders or a good refurb'
- new window seals
- new door sealing (the plastic sheeting)
- new door cards
I'm in South Yorkshire, I don't mind travelling for the right business so I'm thinking Birmingham to Newcastle and Liverpool to Hull.
Can anyone recommend a business they have used for similar work and was happy with.
Thanks.

I thought mine needed a bit of bodywork doing too....
It looked great but kidney bowls and sills were hiding a multitude of sins.
Even then the body shop missed rotten inner wings (picked by 911 Virgin at resale).
If it's 85 and been used budget for more work, and take it someone who knows 911s well (not used one so can't advise).

Cannot recommend anyone oop north I'm afraid, but if it was me, I would find a Porsche bodywork specialist for the metal and paint, and *any* classic car specialist with a good rep for the door cards/plastic/winders/anything else.
Why? Because you will be able to find someone who knows what they are doing for all of the non-metal/paint stuff near to home at reasonable rates....

Not used either, but heard nothing but good things about both.

I use a Porsche specialist in Leeds, Strasse, and from time to time you see 'project' cars there amongst the service cars, repairs and race cars.
I'd be surprised if they couldn't help.
