Life goes on. S**t happens. But there is a way through.
Discussion
So 15 months ago my wife of 10 years walked out. She left me with the 3 young kids, a building project, a farm, and a full time job. She saw the kids from time to time, but was then reported to social services for hitting them on her time. I never thought I'd have a call from the local CID asking me to collect my kids whilst she was interviewed.
She proceeded to bombard me with horrific emails and texts, to imply that I was to blame for her behavior, that I gaslighted her, abused her and even got a womens protection charity involved, none of them fact checked what she was saying, and not a word of it was true. But the whole system feels rigged, it was only when I stood up to her and said it would all have to go to court that she backed down and said she didn't want to, ( because I have literally hundreds of abusive messages from her without one single one back from me ).
Women and BAME complain about men dominating board rooms, try being in a meeting with 12 assorted social workers, teachers, etc in which you are the only male and your ex is chatting away to them all like butter wouldn't melt.
We were doing mediation, watch out for mediation, it's unregulated, she basically used it as a financial fishing trip, as soon as she realised there was no hidden money she ceased mediation and filed for divorce. By email, lovely that. She never had the guts to do it to my face.
I have the kids 50/50, they can't stand her, but I feel she should have them.
I'm half a million down, but after a period of reflection my life will get better, and I will ensure my kids are happy.
Life throws up s
t, there were times I felt like taking a one way drive to a certain local bridge, but it's never worth that. Love and positive thinking eventually get you though. Alot of people are going through alot of s
t right now. But inner strength is there.
There isn't much more to say, apart from if any of you lot want to chat over whatever s
t is happening to you, PM away. We men need to talk more.
Oh I forgot to add, she decided she was a lezza. I mean FFS.

I would be careful with that comment, its a public forum and as you have discovered all sorts of stuff gets dragged up and used in court/cafcass etc Edited by Timmy47 on Tuesday 2nd March 13:56
Keep your chin up, do the best you can for the kids, show them love and support, do not run her down in front of them.
In time you will realise what a lucky escape you have had, and life will be better.
Take it one day at a time
Sorry to hear that OP. If it’s any comfort at all - things do get better with time. Try to take small steps rather than cover a lot of ground in one leap. Also good to focus on your kids, making time for them and trying to give them as much normality and happiness as you can. Totally get you on the mediation front. We went and I didn’t get along with the counsellor at all, she was a super judgemental man hating vegan shoes type. It was a nightmare. Ended up completely vindicating my partners view that I was being an unreasonable asshole.
You’re going to have low points, but remember they are as temporary as you want to make them. Kept moving forwards and it’s amazing what you can achieve.
All the best, Rob
