Stick-on wing mirror glass
Discussion
Wing mirror glass is cracked, was going to get a replacement mirror but found I could get a stick-on replacement glass for under a tenner, it literally just self-adheses (?) to the broken glass.
Is there any drawback to these, should I remove and replace the whole existing mirror panel?

A lot of the drivers I used to work with used them on their vans (Sprinters, Transit connects, etc). Is there any drawback to these, should I remove and replace the whole existing mirror panel?
I'd say at least three quarters of them came off within a week.
I think it's the combination of a flexible (cracked) surface, poor adhesive material on the new mirror, and a likely dirty surface for them to adhere to.
Looking at it both ways, it's under a tenner, it'll only cost you that and if it works for you, great.
If it falls off a couple of days later, you've wasted the money and could cause damage to another vehicle.
Second hand mirror glass from eBay or something might be better.
