Abarth 695 Biposto Record Edition - one of 133

Hi there,
Collected my first Abarth yesterday and rather than working my way up the range I went straight in at the top
Its a 2015 Abarth 695 Biposto Record Edition.
The Italian word ‘Biposto’ translates as two seater, that tells you quite a lot about the car. It’s basic, very basic. No back seats, no air con, no radio, oodles of Carbon Fibre and next to no sound deadening. It has limited slip diff, a full Extreme Shox suspension system and an Akrapovic exhaust system. What you are looking at is 997kg of track focused Supercar eating Italian salami.
This yellow peril is one of only 133 cars made for the world (a number that commemorates the number of racing titles Abarth won) and one of only around 39 cars that came to the UK. This car started life as a Abarth UK press car before moving on to a small number of private owners. Being a press car it has been very well looked after and has some choice optional extras. Gone are the basic door cards to be replaced by carbon fibre pieces (more weight saving), there is also an optional carbon dashboard and carbon mirror caps. Already quick as a standard car (190 bhp approx) this car has been lightly breathed on and now runs at around 219bhp. This should be a hoot on track.
I saw this car come to market around 7 months ago and have watched it go unsold and steadily drop in price to what I think is the very bottom of its depreciation curve. The dealer with this car offered a great part ex on my previous car but thanks to a private buyer found via eBay I ended up doing a no PX deal which was even more competitive.
EVO Magazine described the car in Nov 2015 as “The Abarth 695 Biposto is comfortably one of the most ludicrous vehicles we’ve driven over the past twelve months.”
Top Gear magazine wrote about the Biposto “On paper, the 695 looks like madness, but in the metal, it looks downright evil, and on track, it is a mischievous, exhilarating but ultimately forgiving little scamp. For having the vision to conceive it, and the conviction to build and sell it, Abarth, we salute”
The 70 mile drive home was superb and a real mix of dual carriageways and twisty bits. This car is such good fun.
Looking forward to giving it a good once over at the weekend and will then post some more detail shots.

Hi, Yes watched loads of videos before taking the plunge. I believe the upgrades are well within the tolerances of the components so all being well no issues.

The Biposto Record cars (all 133 of them) were all Modena Yellow (Ferrari paint).
There was also the initial Biposto which was the first release which were all Matt Grey (not sure on production numbers)
There was then the Biposto Rosso Officine (only 99 cars) finished in Red.

How would you compare your tuned 595 to let's say a Mini Cooper s JCW? The reason I'm asking is, I've been looking for a new car and the 595 Comp has caught my eye and I wouldn't want to be slower than what I already have. My 595 is running a bit more power than that - it’s hilarious.

The Abarth feels like a go kart. It is small inside and the sabelts are unforgiving if your bigger.
The driving position takes some getting used to but it puts a smile on my face every time I get in it.
The extra power is nice - these are very cheap to tune compared to most other cars I’ve owned.
I know a couple of people running over 300hp - their cars will scare an awful lot of stuff on a dual carriageway.
