Just saw the F1 launch. I hope this is just a mistake by the marketing agency, however I saw the "new" wings on the F1 car. Strange, the merchandising have different (right) logo then.

Frankly, I am struggling to see the difference. So if more like me then why bother making such a big deal of it!

Hmm, I can see a clear difference ... and the new logo looks worse to me. It also creates a confusion as all the f1 merchandising and the f1 drivers' wear has the "proper" logo.

Still, at least there is some good news, in that they have avoided, heaven forbid, the use of italics.

It’s just a simplified logo to show up better on TV

I hope there is a bit more substance to the Company’s new business plan than the heralding of an almost new logo!

There is even stronger confusion with the "Aston Martin F1" team name. Sometimes Aston's web page says Aston Martin Formula One™ Team, sometimes Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team. On merchandising you can see Aston Martin Formula One™ Team, on their web page Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team. So what is the real name of the team?

An internet search tends to reveal pictures of only 10.

Can you please guide me William, to a website which shows the full set of 12.

Thank you.

They had to change for when it crashes and the car is upside down. Otherwise you would see 'sad face'

It was discovered in focus groups that this would play well with the YouTubers, Influencers and under-11s sets, a key target growth area.

laugh

Andy Palmer liked focus groups too, and was careful to follow their opinions.
He only realised when it was too late, that the people only turned up for the free drink, food and goodies.

You probably all have better things to do, but if you do happen to be on a focus group, you can usually tell what answers they want from the series of questions. Give the right answer and you will be invited again. wink

LOL Venturist!

I used to do focus groups till the client said a key target audience feedback was that there wasn't enough football in a music programme!

Prefer the new logo - cleaner, crisper and much more yoof wink

It's not going to make it beat the Mercedes, is it?

I'm just too old for all this style over substance ste. Should have been born about 100 years ago I reckon.

WHY?? The cost of messing around with the dies for making the stamping of the different sized badges must be into the thousands of pounds - which I would have thought would be better spent on things potential customers have asked for on the cars - or a decent video production set up and a new autocue system if they are going to continue making their own home made videos.

reminds me of a well known phrase about deck chairs and a certain large vessel manufactured in Belfast.

AM don't make the badges. A Birmingham firm makes them.

The cost of re-making the dies my well run into a few thousand pounds, but not per car.

Your logic suggests no company can ever change their logo.
