I'm trying to work out if these watches are the same colour or not.

The watches are Breitling Superocean Heritage II's in copper. It could be the way that the light is hitting the watch in the first pic, or it could be that the watches are different colour, despite both being listed as copper.

I am of the opinion that the colours are indeed different, which is disappointing as Breitling no longer seem to sell the watch in picture 1.

The bottom one has a pip at 12 in the bezel.

Yes I hadn't noticed that. I've worked out that the watch in pic 2 is copper bronze, and is different colour.

I was only interested in the colour, rather than all of the other things that were different about it smile

It's impossible to tell when looking at Internet pictures. A watch can look very different depending on the equipment and lighting used. YouTube videos generally give a more true picture of what a watch really looks like.

Simple answer this one.

The top watch is a SOH 1, the bottom one is a SOH 2.

The Gen 1 has an aluminium bezel insert, the gen 2 is ceramic. They look very different in the metal.

Most obvious at a glance gen 1/2 points of difference:

Gen 1 bezel has a steel ring between the insert and the crystal. Gen 2 the insert goes all the way to the crystal.

Gen 2 hour hand is bisected lengthways, through the triangle of lume.

Thanks. My OP didn't ask about the differences between the watches, but it is good to know that the top is Heritage 1 and the bottom one is a Heritage 2.

Found some YouTube videos. The heritage with the copper dial just looks much nicer imo. Shame they're not available as a heritage II
