Looks good! The vantage looks sharp in green with the traditional grill.

Is that a GT4 Vantage or a standard road car adorned with wing and splitter? Hope it's fast enough for the F1 drivers who have a bit of a habit of complaining on the radio that the Safety Car is going too slowly. Do you think Mercedes have allowed them to turn the engine up over 503bhp? Was the Merc one an AMG GTR or a full race version?

As a lot of us had hoped, the colours look so much better in daylight than on the F1 car at the launch. Fabulous! thumbup

Seeing these images makes me wish even more that the pink on the race car was AMR lime.

It's a 50/50 split across the season with the existing Mercs. Let's hope the Aston is on duty at the circuits with a history of the safety cars being used more frequently.

Apparently Lance Stroll will also be wearing a matching green helmet - should look fab.

The front end of the Vantage looks fantastic. What have they done to it?

New nose cone and slatted grille. Introduced as an option with the Roadster version of new Vantage and now an option on the coupe too; the old “hunter” nose and grille is still available as an option on either. Both the new grilles or old mesh can be ordered in black or silver.

If you’re interested I posted four images off the AML configurator of a silver car with the various nose options in this old thread
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

For me the only option is the new grille with silver vanes. I still think if looks a little odd from the front quarter view on the safety car above, but I can understand why Aston wanted to improve it with the minimum possible changes.

Looks like a gopping fish mouth, pretty similar to a catfish or even the Daimler Dart

Im not a lover of the front end.

Is the new front end a no-cost option now? With the horizontal silver vanes it actually does look really good.

PH article about this today.
https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/as...

TL:DR, "Aston has increased output from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 to 535hp and broadened the availability of its peak torque. The chassis has been overhauled, too, with detailed underbody bracing delivering improved structural stiffness."

"Most notable is the comprehensive aero kit, with the new vaned grille and front splitter said to deliver 155.6kg of downforce at 124mph - 60kg more than a production Vantage generates at the same speed."

Vantage ............. = 503 bhp
F1 Safety Car .... = 535 bhp
DBX ................... = 542 bhp

Wonder why the Safety Car power, does not match that of the DBX.

Probably because the DBX weights in at hefty 2245kg and the vantage is 1530-ish.

I just wondered whether it might be simpler, to take a DBX engine from the pile at St Athan.

Perhaps as motor racing is dangerous (does it still state that on the back of every ticket?) they wanted the bhp numbers to add up to 13.

Perhaps it forms the basis of (and has the power output of) a forthcoming Vantage S.

Perhaps not a new Vantage S, but maybe the new Vantage F1 Edition? Power is slightly different according to the latest issue of Vantage Magazine at 528 bhp, and the other changes look very similar. The whole package looks very much like the F1 Safety Car too (in AM Racing Green at least!) U.K. pricing starts at £135,900 and it will be available in both coupé and Roadster variants. I’m struggling to find any details on line, but it does look rather good in the magazine article. The newer grille, bigger wheels and the aero package suit the car well, as do the carbon side vents. Best looking iteration of the new Vantage to date imho.

Best Regards
