Was watching The Car Years, I had never heard of Ford pulling a fast one where they showed the rally homologation inspectors a bunch of RS200s and told them the others were at the Reliant factory. Shipped the cars to the Reliant factory overnight then showed them the exact same cars claiming they were “the others”

Any other amusing stories of the like that people can recall? Not illegal, just sneaky.

Lancia were reputed to have done the same thing with the S4. See Clarksons story about it.
Toyota got caught with the turbo restrictor trick.

I know it’s not fool proof but you’d think they’d want serial / vin numbers or some sort of non removable sticker to stop this
