aka Ian and his chaps at "Auto Prestige" (till new name is formalised) in Middlewich

What a crackin bunch of people. Value for money service or what.

Full 12k service (all the bits & fluids) + a really conscientious waxoyl underneath + adjust both doors so they close like a new jag's + replace reverse light switch ( fiddly half hour job ) + tighten rocker cover and sump + cups of tea + insight into the workings of the hydraulic tappet & role of shims + met Ian's mother (lovely lady) + long chat with Pete of Cheshire TVR who sends his engine work to Ian + got collected from Winsford station when I picked the car up =

£375 ALL IN !!

Who was the cynic who scoffed at my £1k p.a. budget? So far, so good

Recommend him? Er, just a bit. Ian knows his stuff and also knows who's who nationally, too, so if he cant sort summat out, he'll get onto whoever else can. Superb service all round. Back for lube in 6 months and at £75 a throw, another full hit with waxoyl and full sevrice again this time next year.

You sure did, Ian lah, sure did. Thanks very much.

Pete Bennett said the Griff's in nice nick, too. Told him we'd be ringing him on Sunday if we win the lottery tomorrow. Nout fancy, like, just a nice low mileage Griff would do nicely. Did you manage to get to the TVR meet on wednesday?

Petros - I remember a guy by that name who played for Czechoslovakia in the World Cup in, was it 70 or 74? Scored a few I think.

Ian - Rollin Thunder is runnin beautifully now. He sorted something called the "base idle" out. Tick over is even and there is that sweet whistle on pick up from the air intake.
