Why is London so out of touch with UK politics?

I've been overjoyed in recent years that the UK has been heading down the political path that it has. Elections and the referendum have all been of a certain political tendency. Labour being so utterly decimated in 2019 was the cherry on top.

But why is London the anomaly? Why are it's politics so outdated and out of touch?

Probably because London is the only truely cosmopolitan modern city in the county that is not harking back to the fifties.

When you work in London and then hear people on-line say "But only X% of the UK population is non-white" it is like being in another world.

Because London is not reflective of the UK.

It is not far off having white British people in the minority, if the city is not made up of British people it wont be reflective of the Country.

40% of Londoners were not born in the UK.

At the last census 44.9% were deemed white British.
