X1 F48 bike carrying? (contains warranty info for tow bar).

Just looking into a tow bar for our 2016 X1 F48 so as to fit a bike rack to it.
It's under extended warranty with BMW/Allianz.
Allianz say it must be a BMW tow bar NOT to affect the warranty, i.e. not to void it.
Sytner BMW say "...it would be £3111.01 inc vat to supply and fit a tow bar."
Fortunately I only want it for a bike rack. I can't have a rear mounted one of any type (rear roof spoiler; no bike rack prep option) so roof bar type it is!!
Helped me decide... just need to know the best value roof option? Anyone??
