mines due in june and it needs to remain within the network for warranty purposes. swindon have quoted 855 inc brake fluid and vat

of course its going to cost less outside the network but it will go to fearnsport from 2022. until then, which other opc's should i be calling to get a price and is it possible to supply my own oil?

Holy **** that’s crazy! I guess at £200 that’s what to expect, I paid less than that for a major with plugs on my 996 GT3 at an independent.

Tell them what an indie quotes (choose one where they can see the price on the website) and ask if they will price match.

That tip was provided to me a few years ago and an OPC dropped their price...

Similar to what I got quoted in Bournemouth. It’s insane how much the prices have risen in the last two years...

It used to be £400 for a minor on my 996T, unsure how double can be justified now..

I don’t know where you are located but I have always found Porsche Brooklands to be willing to have a practical conversation about prices and match comparable quotes. Sounds like prices have gone up across the board though.

i guess my locals would be hatfield, reading, brooklands and i could get to tewkesbury or cambs if i wanted a stretch

ill start by seeing if swindon can do a price match and take it from there

next major service for the 96GT3RS is quoted as £1700 includes gearbox but I won't be paying that if you have a good relationship with your OPC they'll price match indies but there again I have had a couple of new Gt cars from them in recent years maybe that figures in who knows

OP to answer your question, yes it is possible to supply your own oil, I used to do this at Brooklands.

OP, I recently got quote on my 997 turbo for a 12 year (read big) service including plugs, on a turbo this is an engine drop in most cases.

Swindon wanted £2400, then dropped to £2k as I’m existing customer. The original price was double what I paid for last major service 4 years ago 😮.

My advice is to try Cotswold Porsche who are excellent independents and usually have a few gt3’s on site.

ok so ive managed to get something more sensible from hatfield but some of the feedback on 911uk is disturbing

it needs to stay within the network for warranty purposes

Engine drop for a spark plug change? Jesus, glad I stuck with my 996 Turbo, sparks can practically be done in situe, most bumper off.

I am told that with access to a ramp, dropping the engine a couple of inches is quicker than the alternatives.

so the results are coming in

swindon
cambs (will knock off 50 if supply own oil but 9l will cost a lot more than that)
hatfield

call request from brooklands
nowt from tewkesbury so far

does the BF change mean a clutch fluid change will be done and cooling system bleed - this is listed on the cambs quote as part of the same 'operation' as the BF change
