Hiya all,
Recently my BMW R65 known as Ted decided to throw in the towel. The front wheel of Ted collapsed, ie the spokes sheared at the hub as I was braking for a roundabout.Luckily I managed not to crash. But only just.
I recall many years ago that some of the larger boxer twins suffered from wheels collapsing and the wheels were modified to prevent cracking. These were subject to a recall.
I emailed BMW to find out if the R65 had been subject to a recall. To be honest they were worse than useless. They couldn't even recognise the frame number.
So My question is, does anyone know of any other R65's which have suffered wheel failure?
