Got into this stuff recently, great weeknight alternative to a couple of beers.
Have found the shop bought varieties vary hugely, the first one I had was the best but I've not seen it for sale anywhere since, anyone got any recommendations?

Also got a brew your own kit for xmas so intend to start doing that at some point, anyone else doing it?

Interesting stuff here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/...

Despite these implications, kombucha is not considered harmful if about 4 oz per day is consumed by healthy individuals; potential risks are associated with a low pH brew leaching heavy metals from containers, excessive consumption of highly acidic kombucha, or consumption by individuals with pre-existing health conditions

Not sure I'd want to be packing away pints of the stuff.

Reads an article that has no firm conclusion and picks out the most alarmist paragraph, are you the daily Mail?

I’ve become a fan of kombucha since I stopped drinking. Not for any supposed health benefits, I just like the taste. My current favourite brand is Leftfield.

The first one I had was a turmeric one in a strange glass bottle, can't remember the brand and yet to find one that is as good as that one.

Realised that a lot of the big supermarkets sell kombucha "style" drinks and they are a waste of time.

I'll seek out some Leftfield...

Yeah the brand that most supermarkets sell has artificial sweeteners so I avoid it. The Los Bros cola one that Sainsbury's sells is pretty good as a soft drink though.

I like kombucha, I have a load in the fridge, but the caffeination means I dont drink it in the evenings.
