UK Census March 2021

Just completed my online Government Census.
No problems, website clearly laid out, however some of the questions are rather intrusive, such as how many "O" levels you have. etc.
I appreciate the need for a census, but I'm pretty sure last time it was basic details, Name, people living with you etc.

Always been quite a bit of information, as that helps tailor funding, government policy and outcomes to specific socio economic needs.
A very helpful thing for everyone in the country, as we all directly benefit from the information that it will gather and the analysis that will be done on it.
Though sadly, I give it five minutes before the tin foil hat brigade rock up justifying why they won't fill it in.

I did ours for the household last night - i have to say, given previous experience of .gov websites, I was actually really impressed how quckly it loaded up and all worked. Dead easy.
Some clearly new stuff yes, such as 'is the sex you identify as the same as what you were registered at birth'. They are also very clear about answering based on the your work/home life situation 'now' not 'normally.
For instance, I always have, until this year, worked at a business premises, this year I have done more WFH like so many - they clearly want to capture this, I guess so that the stats and history shows the full effect of CV19.

Exactly, I think its very worthwhile and every citizen should be responsible enough to fill it in (in the same way everyone should turn up to vote). A very helpful thing for everyone in the country, as we all directly benefit from the information that it will gather and the analysis that will be done on it.

Done, took 10 mins for a family of 4 which isn't bad.
The only slightly odd thing to me was when I filled in the details for my 6 year old, it didn't ask if she's ever been Married, which makes sense. When I completed it for my 15 year old it did. There are of course bigger issues in the world, but it seemed odd (he's never been married BTW).
I wonder if anyone has ever actually been fined for not completing it? I can imagine some of those nutty 'Freeman of the Land' types getting all hot under the collar about it.

+1You can't sit there and complain about the country if you don't do basic things to help matters such as complete a Census.

Same questions as last time, some rephrasing to assist in extracting useful overall info but they asked about number of O levels last time. 3 new areas: Veteran status, Sexual orientation, gender identityNo problems, website clearly laid out, however some of the questions are rather intrusive, such as how many "O" levels you have. etc.

Mine does too "All households should complete the census on Sunday 21 March 2021 or as soon as possible after".My first thought was that they must have a hell of a system set up if it wasn't going to crash, my second thought was it was a shame I can't just do it now.

Pure guess but In some parts of the world your 15 year old could be married but there’s nowhere your 6 year old could?
