JL has announced that it won't be reopening all its stores after lockdown, but they haven't said which ones.

Anyone care to take a guess?

Depends on the time you're talking about.

By the end of 2022, will there be any left?

Already earmarked to be culled.

I'd not be surprised to see the one in Solihull closed too.

With Burton, Topshop, et all gone and M&S due to close their reasonably big shop there soon, there will be nothing much left to draw anyone in.

Repeated across many shopping centres I feel . John Lewis was the flagship store in my town , already closed along with Debenhams which was the other big store

Oxford has a nice shiny new JL and I fear that will go the same way, chatting with staff at Bristol store before this lockdown they feel they are for the chop as well

I cannot decide what I think about Nottingham store. It has never seemed that busy in recent years, even without their hopeless COVID measures. That said, with Debenhams gone it only leaves Mike Ashley's jumble sale as competition.

Makes sense. These lockdowns won’t end now they’ve started. The only safe way to continue operating is to switch to a mostly online presence.

Manchester will likely be gone as they forced John Lewis to open on boxing Day with menace even though it was against what the company stood for.

What's happening with JL online?
Was browsing garden furniture this morning and half the stuff is out of order. Is it Brexit or are they having trouble paying suppliers?

Think the Edinburgh one will be too given it's attached to what will be a brand new shopping/cinema/resturant centre in the city centre.

They paid no rent for Watford and still couldn’t make it pay.

Can’t believe they are trying to convert top floors of Oxford St. into offices - surely that is the jewel in the crown for them? I’ll miss the 5th floor for AV & a coffee.

Someone was saying that none of the Dyson range is available online either. There's a stench of death around JL. I'm just surprised it's happening so quickly.

We’ve already had Hancock gleefully stating he wants to use the same methods for flu. Whitty warning of third waves despite the vaccine rollout. They’re already priming for an “alas” speech.

Was that one ever opened after the shopping centre was redeveloped? I was going to say if that wasn’t open then it’ll go. Princes Street is going to be a desert now with BHS, Debenhams, Frasers (pretty sure that was a pre-Ashley closure), Jenners and the Arcadia places gone. Only really M&S left and if JL goes that’s the anchor tenant for the new St James Centre round the corner
