There have been a lot of catalytic converter thefts going on in and around the village I live in and I'm now wondering how vulnerable the cars in my family are, one of which is a new Macan. I'm thinking just the ride height could make life easier for the thieves. Does anyone know whether the cats are easily accessed on the Macan?

All the reports I've seen have been from Japanese hatchbacks. Other than that I have no answer to your question.

Any petrol engined car with a catalytic converter fitted is a target. Jap stuff is worst but they all have a value in the hundreds.

Could be wrong but I always thought Jaguar were more likely to have their cats stolen.

Someone like Max Torque in the general gassing section mentioned that on newer cars the cats are up by the manifolds- better for efficiency etc and by coincidence much harder to steal.

Do a google images search for macan underside - there’s a photo showing where the cats are - no way can they be cut out
