What's your general impression of Manchester?

I was born and brought up in Manchester and surrounding area, and personally think it's a great place to live, generally speaking the people are fine, and you have some beautiful countryside around 30 minutes away, houses are much cheaper than down south, and we have two top football teams.

I wondered what the PH thought's were our kid.

I have only had two cars broken into, both times in Manchester city centre and during the daytime.

I had an office in the Northern Quarter and was approached by conmen and women on a regular basis.

No interest in going back to Manchester for any reason.

Besides Manchester being situated on the wrong side of the Pennies, I like Manchester.

And as for whoever said they preferred Liverpool

Easily the country's second city.

There is no point in comparing any city to London - that place stands on its own and has few peers globally - but within the UK Manchester is the leader of the rest.

Unfortunately the mayor and the PM don't really see eye to eye....

Trafford!

Affluent southern suburbs, intense areas of deprivation - just like any city. Compact centre good for walking around, free trams as part of your train ticket. Not as rainy as people seem to think. Interesting the difference in public perception of people from Manchester and that other NW city 35 miles down the Mersey.
