As part of re-commissioning my old R1100S, I ordered Magnecore plug leads this week.

Arrived today, went to fit them, seemed a bit tight, but persevered. Bike wasn't running right, so decided to pull them to swap back to the old leads and track down the issue.

One of the leads came apart when pulling it out - leaving a plastic and rubber wedged firmly in the plug hole. I took the rocker off to get better access, but there is still some plastic and rubber suck there, which I'm struggling to get out.

Any tips? (I'm really hacked off as these are expensive leads and were specific to the bike, no idea how they managed to get it wrong!)

Just ordered some more long nose pliers - mine were useless. Hopefully longer reach ones will help.

It's really tight, I'm hoping I can break up the plastic with a screwdriver and pull it out with the pliers.

Words cannot describe how hacked off I am at this! (Especially as a bolt head holding the head protector on snapped as I undid it, too!)

No, the plastic / rubber is wedged right down the 'tunnel'. The flats of the plug are behind the remnants of the cap.

Common. Wd40 or equivalent down the plug hole. Use a thin straight pick or a bradawl or an old hack saw blade. Easy work

Heat something red hot - coat hanger etc and use it to cut it up, then pull the bits out

Drive a long screw into it and then pull it out with pliers.

It's goosed now so there's no point being subtle.

It's absolutely mullered. I'm deep, deep inside the head now trying to pull out the last half cm or so.

I'm absolutely astounded that a big brand manufacturer would get this so badly wrong. 70 quid a pair, too.

The other lead came out easily, so I do wonder if the set weren't matched.
