Best stuff to stick it back on?

I'll obviously mark up to get it back in the right place. Any special fixative required? Suppose vibrations could loosen it or the wrong stuff cause cracking?

Cheers buddies.

Don't bother? I left mine off after having a replacement windscreen, view through the screen is now so much better.

Cheers - it does look a bit more 'track'. I can see through the wing mirrors anyway right?

Is it illegal/MOT? (not that that has ever stopped me ;-) ).

Think you just need 2 mirrors to qualify for MOT so the outside too are fine. I found them so crap on my Elise though that I wouldn't want to run without a rearview one.

I can't imagine not having the interior mirror. I could live without the door mirrors - that's what turning your head is for.

I used the 'proper' glass Loctite kit from Halfrauds and it worked a treat -comes with an activator impregnated mesh and adhesive. Be careful to follow the instructions to the letter though.

Nope,

My Spyder only has an interior mirror.

What cinqster said.

Be sure to clean the glass surface thoroughly before application - dunno if that kit comes with a cleaner, if not use some nail polish remover to get all the residue off the screen and the mirror before applying the new glue.

From personal experience those adhesive pads which you can get don't work very well and invariably fall of at an important point in a journey!

I agree. the sticky pads also have a bit of movement in them - which leads to the mirror virbating & blurring your rearward vision. I've used the loctite with activating mesh stuff on my previous Elise and it worked a treat. Easy to fix the mirrors on our cars, the little metal tab comes out of the mirror arm with an allen key and you just stick that bit on first.

Might see if I can remove mine, it will free up useful screen space, it's pretty useless in an Exige anyway...

Mines back on. But it wriggles a bit.

Mirror in an Exige? What is the point - you can't see anything.
