Peak Guardian?
Discussion
Although there have been a lot of contenders over the years. This mornings Dear Mariella has to be peak for me:

Someone has the truly unimaginably painful problem of parents voting for UKIP and Brexit so the advice is to 'loosen ties'
But the comments, good grief the comments.

The opinion section is usually full of rubbish.
Just ignore the same way you would Littlejohn or Hitchens.
Hitchens is good, Littlejohn a bit ranty. Guardian has improved a bit now two DM journos have been hired. Generally articles are quite diverse but you need to read most through a prism of angst and self-entitlement.The opinion section is usually full of rubbish.

Hard to take a grown man who writes about "face nappies" seriously I'm afraid.Yes there's arguably bit of angst there but equally it's not wall to wall "war on woke".
Read lots and (hopefully) get a rounded view!

That would be ideal, but people don't, unfortunately. Does it matter? I don't really think so. Most of the population of the UK aren't defined politically/philosophically by the papers they take, I think more people are capable of independent objective thought than this forum gives them credit for. Honestly I'm really not so sure. When you see thread after thread and reference after reference to "snowflakes" and "woke" where are people getting that from?
You look in some of the threads on here and it's literally like the Mail or Express have sent writers to Pistonheads.
Or maybe people independently pick up that language and those views.

I think you'll find it's the same small group of posters over and over again from either side of that type of debate. When you see thread after thread and reference after reference to "snowflakes" and "woke" where are people getting that from?

Yes it definitely could be and perhaps it's just my perception. But it's noticeable how many times you open a thread only to see references to the "woke left" or "virtue signallers" or whatever Daily Mail buzzword bingo reference is there.
Personally I never come across that sort of language anywhere in real life.

Sure, plenty of that on here. I'm not sure it's fair to blame the DM though? People seize on language like that (see also gammon etc) because it gives meaning to the user, rather than the reader. It's up to the reader how much meaning they attach... ?
