I assume the record volumes/deliveries will fall back once Lockdown is lifted. The question is - is the current SP based on the current performance or long-term prospects ? i think it's the latter; more and more people are shopping online and RM are in pole position to capitalise from that.

Also the company seem to be recruiting agency staff now rather than employing pt/ft staff , we've still got the agency people we had nov/dec as there's enough work to justify it .

Imagine you have just found 6k cash down the back of your sofa, would your first choice be to invest it in Royal Mail above anything else? Is this a mental idea when royal mail seems to be on the up with record volumes of parcels and Sunday deliveries.
If the answer is no, go with the fund.

The thing is, they're nowhere near pole position. They've continually failed to take advantage of the booming parcel market and instead bleated that they struggle because letter volumes have dropped. Other services have come in to take up the exta volume. You can drop parcels off until 11pm, and in some cases 24hours, with the PO you have until 5pm. We have a hermes guy that does a round in a van every day, and others that do bigger stuff when needed. I assume the record volumes/deliveries will fall back once Lockdown is lifted. Meanwhile, the PO have mooted reducing post boxes so only letters can be put in, taking away the last competitive advantage the have. Clueless.
So I wouldn't invest in them.

31 years and there have been no postie job cuts and there won't be any for the next 2 years.
Did I hear a Royal Mail advert advertising their post boxes as '19,000 drop-off points'? Creative!
I can't speak for the share price but for me RM lost the plot when they introduced all those silly size/weight limitations and then started asking you what was in every package (even if it was only going a few miles in a van). The till system is incredibly slow too, with staff having to type in half a book each time. Hermes just gets on with it.

So that's the boxes , every single post office or picked up from your doorstep , seems like a pretty wide set of options to me .

When they closed some mail centers those staff were offered delivery jobs so again nobody was forced out .

Sell some, keep some. Mrs 48k sold some of hers and kept the rest.Is this a mental idea when royal mail seems to be on the up with record volumes of parcels and Sunday deliveries.
Parcel volume is on the up but RM will always be hamstrung verses its competition by the Universal Service Obligation.
