So today I have been to OPC to collect my new Cayman GTS, I had finished all paperwork, they were about to drive car outside from the showroom for me to leave and salesman said very sorry sir, just had an email from Porsche there has been a recall. This is now a no sale until we identify the issue and repair.. Apparently it is a problem with 62 cars in UK.
Very annoying

And how long to fix it?
Presume you've got a decent courtesy car?
On a scale of 1-10 how pi$$ed off?

Only deposit thankfully ?? but have been waiting a year and it’s my first Porsche ??
WTF?Obviously you're a very patient chap.
A year's wait, deposit paid and its taken away from you at the point of driving off into the sunset.
No courtesy car is an insult. Wouldnt stand it myself.
You have 30 days to reject the car. So either use that to leverage a Porsche courtesy of at least similar value or tell them to refund.
If you're keeping the car you need a timescale for repair IN WRITING.

All sounds a bit suspect to me.
Email received by the dealership at the very moment they're driving the car out you're due to collect? Did they show it to you?
No reason known/given for the recall? Surely even the briefest of information would have been given or are they hoping to keep it secret?

If you have paid a deposit and signed paperwork I'm not sure it could be called a 'no sale' as clearly you have contracted with the OPC to supply this car so there is a sale/purchase contract in place. Surely a rental car funded by Porsche UK and/or dealer is the absolute least they can do at this point?Mark V GTD said:

Not offering even a base hire car for a few days from the local Enterprise or equivalent is really, really poor customer service. OK so its a Porsche, but that is no excuse to be treated so badly.
I would expect/demand better from Kia and would get it.
Get in touch with the director of the dealership & explain what has happened. Copy verbal agreements by email.
Your minimum expectation should be:
1. A thorough explanation
2. Courtesy car of equivalent value
3. A timescale for repair
4. An apology
