The final part of the upgrade plan
Discussion
Over the years a have been on a rolling upgrade plan starting with the Engine now a 4.7 and sublime power delivery.
Then a gearbox and full drive train up-rated with Dave Mac drive shafts and quaife internals for the gearbox and differential.
Then came a body off chassis restoration with new everything, bushes, fuel lines brake lines....all the things that are easier to do with the body off were done.
Next came a refurb of my Nitron dampers with new springs all set up on a dyno with valving set for the car weight and spring rates, well worth doing.
18 months ago I decided that the peeling lear coat and the stone chips and generally well used appearance of the car needed sorting so a complete colour change respray was completed in a Black Chery effect paint
Now it has been the interior, it used to be black with red center panels for the seats and it was a bit like the black hole of Calcutta in there and the bolster on the drivers seat had worn though so I have decided to bite the bullet and get a retrim.
I should be picking it up tomorrow and now it is looking like this.

Much brighter in butterscotch and black full leather including the roof lining with a slight nod to the Ferrari Daytona.
I think it is time to stop now and just drive the old girl so to this end I have booked a track-day at Castle Combe for 28th May, still spaces available if anyone fancies it, and Spa for two days in October, not sure on spaces, and my wife and I are doing the NC 500 for a touring holiday in August with another two couples with a Tuscan and an R8........Covid willing.
Here's to a great year of motoring and ear to ear grins and no doubt the odd tear along the way.

I'm sure the whole process has been well documented elsewhere around here, as despite not being new here it's the first time i've been back on a regular basis in years.
If so, do you mind posting some links to other refurb threads? Or if not and when you get chance sticking some pics up?
It looks great and i'd be interested to have a proper read about everything you've done. Congrats!

Sorry I am not very good at keeping things like this up to date and only have about three photos of the car in total:-(If so, do you mind posting some links to other refurb threads? Or if not and when you get chance sticking some pics up?

I do how ever have all the receipts;-)

Your story has been an inspiration to us all, Martin
As soon as I've won the Lotto I will be contacting you for the interior refurb details
(but, on the positive side, CoVid has enabled me to save for the bodywork at Windrush - just gotta wait until my (extended) 100K service is finished
)
Really looking forward to Spa - Doubr if I'll be ready for C.C. though.
Well done and All the Best

Interior looks fab .. does your regular passenger have incredibly long thighs though? the seat base looks like it could double up as a bed!
nice job though, you've pretty much ended up with the ideal cerb now?

Wow, the interior looks amazing...love it.
It sounds like one of the best Cerbs out there. I bought a Speed Six when new but sold it after a few years.
This was the objective, to make the car as good as it can be while keeping an eye on originality. It sounds like one of the best Cerbs out there. I bought a Speed Six when new but sold it after a few years.
Thanks for the positive comments all.
Only thing left to do is take it to SRR to provide a comparison power figure, I think the betting is on 475ish bhp going on previous comparisons between Dom's and Charlie's rollers.

Go on, how about one more of the engine bay
Just looks like a slightly oily engine bay to be honest. I am not good at cleaning my cars at the best of time but when it is not on everyday view I am hopeless.
The engine bay will just show a AJP8 engine with 4.5 short induction and dirty red powder coating on the rocker and chain covers.

Lightweight - I have three box files full
Who did the trim? Was there a breakdown of costs for the front seats, headliner, doorcards, steering wheel... I think thats all I need

They are in my village and do all of the Aton Martin special vehicles and press car and the like. The Sultan of Brunei just had the driivers seat for his McLaren soft tail droped off for the trim to be modified to fit him better.
It is run by two blokes who are both ex Aston Martin trim shop so they know their stuff.
The bloke who looks after all the TVR is called Paul, he has a Chimera and can be reached on 07799418032.
They are not the cheapest but they are right up there in quality of workmanship, it is exquisite.
