After scratching the bronze watch itch last year, I quite like the idea of a meteorite faced watch, so feel free to list any favourites or recommendations either to buy or just to look at (somebody does have a meteor Lange on here, but that's out of my league hehe).

Microbrands like Zelos and Orion have made some nice ones in the past (The Orion Calamity in very small numbers), but always happy to see more.

So let's see some rock-faces. smile

Yeah, their older sold out model is a bit nicer IMHO than their current offering:

More towards the Tsao's budget rather than going into 1000s...

I've been looking at that for the past few minutes together with their site and quite like it, but it looks like it'll be 43mm which is a little big for me.

Yep, a bargain. frown

Zelos Swordfish 42mm, with meteorite used for both the dial & bezel insert, and a titanium case & bracelet.

Superb lume as well. Seiko NH35 movement. Sapphire crystal. Quick-release bracelet with a clasp that can be adjusted without tools. Comes with a Horween leather strap plus Zelos’ usual very useful watch roll & wooden box. Very good watch for not a lot of money.

The meteorite sample is taken from the Muonionalusta find in Scandinavia. Thought to have landed on Earth about 1m years ago, it has endured 4 ice ages, and originally was part of a broken-up Planetoid formed circa 4.5 billion years ago, making it older than the Earth itself.

The Widmanstattten / Thomson lattice-like structure is formed of nickel-iron alloys called kamacite & taenite in a process that is evidence of extra-terrestrial origin, such is the extremely slow rate of cooling required to form these patterns.

Meteorite samples aren’t expensive to buy and are often used in jewellery etc. BMW also made a one-off M850i ‘Night Sky’ edition with inlaid pieces of the Muonionalusta.

It gives the dial an unusual texture that shifts in the light, and I just find it cool in a geeky fashion that this is one of the oldest things anyone on Earth has ever touched.

Hello fellow RJ owner wavey

Just to be really pedantic, that one is a silicon face (in itself a really interesting dial material), the meteorite face was released alongside that model

Pic stolen from here:

To offer some relevant suggestions, Signum Cuda Meteorite

Or go a little more 'reasonably priced' with something from, ahem, Martha Jackson getmecoat

Cheers, just ordered up a Signum Cuda 40mm Grey Meteor from the Microbrands Store site. smile $389 With a $20 discount voucher.

I quite like their sister brand, Stratton so this seemed a decent bargain to scratch that itch, plus the online reviews were favourable. smile

Go for it! hehe

I've never had a steel bracelet that I've got on with size or feel-wise so am giving lots of thought to the silicone/rubber/NATO strap options that'll really set this quite plain face off. smile

This month is going to destroy me financially - moving costs ££££... lol - so no chance this month!

They are bookmarked for future reference, though wink

re: straps - personally I can't stand NATOs - the material makes my skin itch / irritated under then head of the watch, and once they get wet they seem to be even worse for it... laugh
