Cerbie in 'odd spot'

Guys,

Parked out the back of my house, in Sunningdale, is a dark blue 02 Cerb.

Normally, this would be no big deal, but 2 things suggest that all is not right with the car ....

1. It's been parked there for the past 24 hours or so and overnight - no-one in their right mind would do that.

2. The windscreen wipers are mid-wipe - peculiar as it's not been raining - and I doubt an owner would switch off the ignition mid-wipe.

If the car is not well and you need somewhere 'safer' to keep it, then you can use my driveway (can be easily pushed there), and will be safer.

Naturally, just in case, I've stuck a PH calling card under the wiper - so the owner won't miss it. I doubt it's a PH'er as he/she would/should be on the Surrey Run.

Edited to add that it's not been nicked and dumped - it's 100% clean in that respect.

That Cerbie is mine, and your right it was parked there very hastily on Saturday afternoon as whilst at the T junction steam was pouring out of it. Had to reverse and park up as needless to say was on the way to a wedding at the time and could not deal with it then (and I had spent 2 hours cleaning it the day before). Pressed the wiper button in a panic whilst trying to reverse back and it just stopped half way and then would not work at all. Once parked, it proceded to spill coolant all over the road. I live less than 10 mins away, so was not too pleased about my lack of progress not least to have the embarassment of turning up in a Jeep Cheroke of helpful neighbor not to mention the grief from upset wife. Managed to drive it back on the Sunday after adding more coolant and the wipers reset themselves on starting the engine but it has dropped lots of coolant once before (five months or so ago) for seemingly no reason, any ideas on what might be wrong???
Nice to know that it was being watched over though!

Coolant overfilled (should be just below the seam on the expansion tank when cold), pressure cap knackered (it's the same as a Golf VR6 one) or airlock in the system. Mine was impossible to remove the airlocks from for some reason -- then I found out it had a hole in the radiator!

I hope/assume you signed up because you found the PH card?

Yeah - I did keep an eye on it as I more or less directly overlook it (the speed camera is at the end of my garden).

At least you were not stranded, and not far to get home.

Many cars get broken into there, particularly at the weekends - hence my concern - and of course yours would have been a magnet for unsavoury types.

And for what it's worth - it was flawless, so the elbow grease on the clean was worth it.

Shame I missed you on Sunday afternoon - I would have popped out to say hello.
