Just caught the end of a report about the 60th anniversary of the E-Type launch. The footage included a model and 306 CYN: a metallic (pearlescent?) blue roadster. Same car?

It looks like a clip from an old show called the Car's the Star, which is still available on iPlayer

I am sure it was also on the cover of Classic & Sportscar many, many years ago, also in this colour.

Aw shucks folks! You are all too kind to me! Yes, I had gone on a diet and dyed my hair, but you must remember that this was 1995, not yesterday. This was the making of "The Car's the Star" and we were on a farm in Warwickshire; we arrived at 1330, started filming at 1430 - and I finally left the set at 0530 the next morning, driving home in the beautiful sun and early dew. A number of people confuse my car with the one that was on the cover of C & SC, and I can understand why - mine is 306 CYN and that one was 282 CYN although that car is silver, not silver blue, both supplied by Henly's of London in September 1961.

After the farm we moved to a boat shed in Gloucester, and here are a few memories of the day. Some of you may remember the thread seven years back when I took the decision to rebuild her for the second time and put her back in her factory colours. By the way, it's Opalescent, not Pearlescent, which didn't exist then. Close though!

Anyway, here are a few photos.

She has been used and written up a number of times in magazines, both English and French and of all things she also, turned up on a Queen documentary a while back too, although for what reason I have no idea. I never spent a Night at the Opera. Finally, here she is nowadays:-
