New car - Issues before collection
Discussion
Trying to make this as simple as I can.....
1. Started looking for a new car about a month ago, contacted dealers - crap response from most
2. About 3 weeks one dealer has the car I want, we agree price and I pay a deposit, an hour later dealer calls to say the car has already been sold, all apologetic. Can't get the same colour, takes a few days to locate a similar vehicle, but it is a more expensive version with minor discount to sweeten the deal - all agreed
3. Car in compound has to be delivered - 1 week
4. Car arrives at dealer on Monday this, PDI'd, I've insured from tomorrow (collection day) and today I get a call saying it's flagged a suspension fault, they suspect a sensor - non in any local dealers, have to order - another weeks wait minimum.
I know s
t happens, and I'm chilled on the outside, but angry on the inside, I've now got a car I can't drive from 12pm tomorrow I'm not going to pay an admin fee to switch it back for a week so I'm stumped on that one, dealer has offered to now drop it off which I'm happy about, but that's it.
I'd rather the issue come out now than when I've collected it but it's been 4 weeks of messing about to get to this point, am I expecting to much?

Be happy they spotted the suspension fault and actually carried out an inspection. Nearly every car I’ve bought from a main dealer (although used) has had stupid faults that should’ve been picked up if they’d carried out the inspections they were supposed to. Hopefully as they’ve carried this out it’ll yours will be a decent buy.

Yes, exactly and those were my thoughts with the dealer, rather they get everything rectified now than 3 days into ownership.Still annoying though.
I'm guessing this just just you wanting to blow off a little steam?
It sounds like the dealer has saved you by noticing the issue before sending you away with the car. Yeah you're insured a week early, so what? Even if you were paying £2k for insurance that's only £40. Suck it up and be thankful that you didn't pick up a car and notice something was knackered on your drive home, that would've really taken the polish off of the purchase.
