At heart I don't need much but modern life means I have too much and I don't want to waste it by getting rid or throwing away.

Waste occurs when something comes into my possession that I don't need but it's too good or potentially useful to pass on.

I rarely buy stuff, I work in self storage and stuff is something I'm around all the time.

People hoard and then abandon and I'm constantly fighting to not save stuff or at the least put it in the hands of someone who can use it.

I used to do auto jumbles but covid has prevented that so I have tons of car stuff I don't want to chuck or scrap but it's not that valuable either. I like selling and meeting people and if I cover my costs it's great.

Since divorce, I love being a minimalist. I buy rarely, but buy good quality when I do. My ex on the other hand is screwed. She has so much stuff that it now possesses her, not the other way around. Trying to buy a new home is a real headache for her, as she has accumulated so much ste that she can't bear to part with, but a huge house is not within her means.

When thinking about cars, the thought of having to MOT them and look after them quickly kills my desire to buy an additional one.

a bit yes. lot of motorbikes in various stages of bits. also lot of bicycles (work on them for therapy).

I know a few blokes like this where divorce has been a fresh start from all the stuff they’ve accumulated and think they might need etc.

I’ve seen a few mates fresh in new places and all they’ve had to start with is a chair a tv and some booze.
