Hi folks some may have seen was considering selling. I’m not. Just done MOT and a good clean took out the interior and scrubbed and cleaned and a few other bits. Apart from the wheels which are genuine but black. A standard in modified example.

These look so good as a 5 door.

Not many left now either.

Thanks still brings a smile even after 10+ years of ownership.

This looks tremendous.

Thinking about buying one soon, been my dream car for years, but been swaying back and forth between a mk4 and mk5.

The fact you still like it after 10+ years is encouraging!

Have you never considered a resonated Milltek? The OEM exhaust is a right heavy lump and was very boomy on mine even with the flapper mod.

My first of 3 Mk4 R32s was a DBP 5dr and imo they just look so “right”

Mrs MRT dailies a Mk5 R32 and she loves it

I love these, and the mk5.. host dislike the chrome grill on the 5.

I was tossing up between a mk5 R32, and an ED30/Pirelli and settled on a Pirelli as I was coming from a 3.0 V6 and hadn't had a turbo before and fancied the change. When I hear the vr6 howl by though I do wonder if I made the right choice!! I think the 4 is a better looking, more interesting prospect but the more comfortable ownership of a 5 means I would probably land in one of them.

That looks great OP.

An unmodified one much be a pretty rare thing now. I’ve not seen a Mk4 R32 for ages (or a Mk5 to be honest).

I’m probably not independent but I think the stance and the look of the MKIV better than the MK5. The Pirelli or 30 good shout though, although not driven either!

Lovely.

I’ve always been a fan of these. They just look so well ... resolved?

I’ll always fondly remember the noises made when having traffic light Grands Prix with my mate in his R32 and me in my 147 GTA. Good times.

Thanks but more importantly ...Who got the checkered flag?

I think we were pretty much neck and neck. Very similar power/weight ratio. My 147 was manual and the Golf was DSG.

I just remember the noise! cloud9

Indeed that would have sounded lovely.

I’ve generally liked all of the hatches with big engines shoehorned in. Yes I know the smaller engined cars are often more nimble, but I’d happily accept a slightly worse handling car for a great noise.

A friend had one of these about 15 years ago. I really liked it. I can’t remember whether it was before or after my 1.8T MK4 GTI, but the R32 was definitely a better car to drive.
