911 purchase. Help!
Discussion
I'm currently trying to decide what 911 to buy. I'm looking 991.1 or later, in manual, Carrera S or GTS.
I've kind of narrowed it down to these two GTS:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012257...
https://www.dreamspec.co.uk/vehicle/porsche-911-ca...
Or these two S:
https://www.dreamspec.co.uk/vehicle/porsche-911-ca...
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010034...
Firstly, does anyone know anything about Dreamspec? Can't seem to find too much about them online although did find some hints that they may be linked to a dealer that was on Rogue Traders, so am a bit wary.
I think my preference is the higher priced GTS, but I'm still not sure.
I was also considering a 991.1 Carrera S, but am slightly put off by the power delivery from the 3.8L NA engine; when I drove it, I didn't really like the fact it needs to be revved quite high to enjoy it. I'm also put off by the dated interior and rubbish infotainment. However, paying £13k in interest for a GTS against £3k on the 991.1 S does have me thinking.
It's my first Porsche, so I want to get it right!
Any help and guidance much appreciated.

The first GTS linked is stunning, I think that'd be my choice, but that's easy to say when it's not my money
I think the GTS is an excellent overall package though, the 997 cars seemed to hold their value well so I'd have thought the 991 gen would be the same - higher entry price but equally higher market value?

Cheers. That's what my heart says.

My head says that it's a very expensive ornament for the driveway, and the 991.1 Carrera S would still be awesome, and because it's my first Porsche would still be special. Plus, it wouldn't really depreciate and I'm paying a lot less in interest.
The GTS will definitely cost me a lot more (interest plus some inevitably depreciation, especially when the 992 GTS comes out).
I can afford both, no doubt. I guess the question I'm trying to answer is; is the extra cost of the GTS worth it over a 991.1 C2S. Should I listen to my head for once?

I could be mistaken, but that dream spec car looks like one that was on a post a few pages back on "991.2 GTS Manual." I think it was along the lines of be wary as the recorded mileage didnt stack up.
Worth checking in case I am correct that it is one and the same car.
Cheers. I did an HPI check and it came up clear. But I'll bear that in mind. Something else to put me off Dreamspec. Worth checking in case I am correct that it is one and the same car.

Dreamspec pixture looks like the same location as Williams Motor Company or Orion Solutions Motors.
Williams Motor Company was on Rogue Traders.
Amazing how so many garages appear on that land and then there is a change of name.
Must be bad luck (buyer beware)?
Yeah. I think that one is counted out for me now! Cheers. Williams Motor Company was on Rogue Traders.

It was very high spec and I loved it, but if I had the money to afford a GTS then I would have made it happen.
It's obviously personal but most people agree the GTS is worth the extra and should retain its value very well.
The mark up on these cars reflects their value and status so unless you bag a bargain you can expect to lose
£Thousands the minute you drive away,
but this obviously evens out over time so it depends how long you intend to keep it.
If the interest rates on the more expensive cars don't stack up do you have any other options as regards finance,
having said that, when I was in the market my budget only ran to a C2s but I never felt like I made a bad choice,
I enjoyed mine and was sorry to see it go.

Cheers. That's helpful. I'm just worried that having grown up on a diet of turbo and supercharged performance cars I'll find the NA 3.8l a bit lacking, especially in the mid range. It was very high spec and I loved it, but if I had the money to afford a GTS then I would have made it happen.

The 991.1 GTS are generally trading at or above the 991.2 (certainly in manual form) but I'm not sure how long that will continue.
First World problems having to decide! But also really hard to do so!

This 991.1 GTS at Redline is a great example. Went up at just short of £80k. Disappeared the next day. Now up at £85k! Wonder if they'll hold at that price. And whether the 991.2s will also? The 991.1 GTS are generally trading at or above the 991.2 (certainly in manual form) but I'm not sure how long that will continue.

Spotted that too - clearly the phone must have rung off the hook at £80k! https://redlinespecialistcars.co.uk/used-cars/pors...
Ashgood had a nice gt silver 991.2 gts (albeit I’m a bit biased) and that went in a few days, priced just shy of £80k.
The blue one on autotrader looks nice but weirdly was under offer but now is back on sale

Yeah, i was speaking to Ashgood about their silver one, but couldn't get the finance sorted in time. I spoke to the dealer about the blue one. Apparently the potential buyer was looking to export it, but it would have required too much spending on it to make it legal in wherever it was being exported to, so they pulled out.Ashgood had a nice gt silver 991.2 gts (albeit I’m a bit biased) and that went in a few days, priced just shy of £80k.

I'm seriously tempted by it. It just feels like a lot of money to tie up in something that I will love beyond all possible measure, but probably not get as much use out of as I should. Currently looking at 996 Turbos and 991.1 Carrera S. Basically I'm like a kid in a sweet shop... always wanted a fast Porsche, suddenly I can just about afford one, and I just don't know which one to get. Like I said, First World Problems!

Yep, definitely a nice problem to have ! Gave mine the first wash of the year over the weekend (did it myself so am interested how long I keep that up!). Mine was a bit of an impulse buy back end of last year and loving it so far.I'm seriously tempted by it. She's a beaut. See that makes me want to pull the trigger!I was going through exactly the same decision process last month, and decided on a 991.2 GTS manual. I totally recommend doing it, if you can get into a GTS over Carrera S then it’s worth it. I also hope, as I’m intending to keep mine long that values will hold up better. As mine is a second car, I went bold on the colour, far better than black or grey on a car like this. Do it!

That looks stunning, much more special in a stand out colour. The N/A v Turbo discussion is an interesting one. I'm hoping to get into a 991 in a year or so. I'm thinking .2 PDK would suit best for the low down torque on a daily driven car v .1 manual if it was being reserved for weekend blasts.
Dreamspec (the name alone would put me right off) was incorporated in Jan 2021.
The Director doesnt give his full name, Andrew W.
Could it be Williams?
Alarm bells ringing for me.
