Hi, on my 987.2 I’m wanting to remove the petrol filler door as I think I need to do this in order to fit one of those aluminium fuel filler caps. I’ve tried for a good half hour having watched you tube videos but just can’t do it,
Anyone else done this and can offer any advice?
Cheers

If you mean the `Porsche `Aluminium Look filler cap then you do not have to remove the filler flap. There should be a plastic tether on the existing cap which is attached to the bodywork by a pin which is simply pushed out - take care to ensure it doesn't end up going down the fuel filler pipe!

Yes but you can’t remove the plastic pin that attaches the tether as the fuel door is preventing you doing so? Or am I missing something? It’s on a Cayman R if that makes any difference?

Just been to look and have another go. I worked it out an realised I’ve bought the wrong one! Looks like it must be a different fuel cap for a 987.2 compared to the 911 that this one came off. Does anyone know if this will fit a Macan? Otherwise, anyone want to buy a nice aluminium (not actually aluminium but Porsche call it that and it’s from an OPC and not an eBay job from China) fuel cap?
