New to all this car leasing and stuff, what are the best leasing deals people have seen on Seat Leon cupra 2.0?

What would monthly payment look at for 36 months, 10k miles a year on this car?

Nope, that's really quite expensive IMO. You're unlikely to get much help on here, though there is a leasing deals threat where you'll get much more luck. Just be sure to have a real look around and find the best price you can, post it on there and ask if anyone has better.

The general advice though is to have a list of requirements and see the best deal you can get on a car that meets those requirements, rather than chasing a specific car. What is your must have spec, engine, body style etc.

The difficulty you'll have at the moment is likely to be the availability of the new Cupra Leon and so deals aren't as competitive as they once were on that model. Plenty of deals on cars in a similar class like the BMW 128ti and M135i.

I have no doubts the pricing there looks good, but take in to account that's £310 on 9+35 for 5k miles a year. That works out at about 91pence per mile before putting in fuel/insurance etc to be driving around in a base spec (zero options available aside from paint) Golf R. I wouldn't say that's a cracking deal.

The general rule was whether something is a good deal is to see what the price is for 2 years 10k miles per year and it should work out as ~20% of the P11D value. Having said that, prices over the last year have been pretty poor and people are accepting that either the current or the 'new norm' is closer to 25%.

Lease deals are pretty dry at the moment, got my Cupra 300ST last March for £300p/m with maintenance (3yrs 10k).

Bare in mind that the deal on the 300ST won't be around anymore, the car was moving across to start being made and branded under Cupra, as such there were great deals on the Leon Cupra 290/300's because the new model was coming and they needed to shift the stock.

However, you can buy a 6-12month old Cupra and get a hell of a saving if you've got cash or can get a good personal bank loan.

I'm guessing you mean the new Cupra Leon, as the Seat Leon Cupra is no more? Not really see any good deal on them. Are they even available to order yet?

I got one of the last batches of the latter on an incredible deal. 1+23, 8k miles PA, £244 PM. Think you'll struggle to get anywhere remotely close to this now though.

If I can’t find one on lease, I might just have to take a small loan out and buy one off auto trader. Going to search a bit more though as I’d prefer to lease one

Nope, the last of those deals sold out a long time ago. The car isn't produced any more and the stock that was available sold out fast.
If you aren't finding any good lease deals for the new Cupra Leon, you could get in touch with your local Cupra dealers and ask them to provide PCH quotes for whichever spec Leon suits your needs. If you find a few garages with competitive quotes you can play them off against each other slightly to see who can do you the better deal.

Had a quick look on buyacar to see the car you're looking at.

To get those payments it looks like you're looking at £1900 deposit + £262 per month for 60months (5 years!) and there's still a final payment of £6,521.

At that point your £19,565 car will have cost you £24,141. So an average of £402/month for a car that's already 3 years old, although admittedly at the end of it you do then have a car that should be worth ~6.5k so that brings the money lost/spent per month down to £293.66 per month. Feels expensive for a car with no remaining manufacturers warranty and being charged 7.9% APR.

You seem to be really set on a Leon Cupra, have you test driven one? Personally I would only got for a Lux model for the added features:
- leather heated bucket seats
- adaptive cruise control
- enhanced safety pack with lane assist, traffic sign recognition, a tiredness monitor for the driver and seat belt reminders for rear seats
- keyless entry
- wireless phone charging


If you can get a personal loan (from your bank or any other loan provider) for closer to 2-3.5% APR then that will be a much better deal and you won't get stung so badly on the interest charges, meaning you can get more car for your money.

Thank you very much for that informative reply. It makes sense what you are saying. Just been going mad looking at these deals lol, and to answer your question I’ve not driven one but been in one before.

Luckily due to this forum I’m not on the verge of getting sucked into some stupid deal.
