Windows 10 64 bit activation key
Discussion
Hi, I built up a pc for my nephew about 6 months ago and all was good, Windows was activated etc, Anyways today i decided to tie up all loose ends and get it over to him, Yes, 6 months but i am a key worker so time off is sparse! Windows started to update and then informed me that i need to activate it! WTF! He's only going to be doing school work and minecraft on it! Any suggestions for a place to get a genuine key for a reasonable price? Ebay is a dead loss, 0 feedback sellers doing cheap key's, Cheers.

Wow, this kicked off!
Microsoft seem less bothered about one off licence fees these days and are focussed more on subscriptions.
I got a key for a new build last autumn, but the ebay seller has since disappeared. Check this channel though, that's where I found it: https://www.youtube.com/c/techyescity/videos The key cost me £2.97 and worked perfectly.

There’s nothing illegal about buying an OEM key, so long as it’s an official one. You just have no support from Microsoft. I've used one a few years back for a mining computer.
Even pre-Windows 10 they were pretty laissez-faire about OEM keys. Years back, I bought a WinXP Pro Install CD/license off of eBay (to use on my laptop) that turned out to be an OEM version meant for HP computers. I just phoned up the MS telephone line when prompted during activation and entered the supplied reference number (all automated, didn't actually need to speak to anyone) and it activated fine. The Spruce Goose said:
