First time Vantage owner (2006 model)
I had 2 questions to ask..
1) The glovebox, what's the correct way to close it? slam it shut or press the button while closing it so it latches?
2) I want to be able to put a car cover over it but i didn't realise it has that awful aerial. How do Vantage owners get around this for putting covers on?
Is there a cheap alternative small aerial? hopefully one without a mast like the BMW style ones?

congrats on the new car 
1. just press it closed
2. yes you can get smaller bee sting style antenna, although the fitted car covers I have had from Specialized had a slot for the antenna. Just ask when you buy. I did fit the bee sting style antenna off ebay to my 2006 Vantage, it looked better but the radio reception was even worse.

The glove box doesn't seem to shut when i just push it closed as the latch is closed and i'm worried i'll break it if i push it too hard?
also, i should've mentioned i want to use an outdoor cover which wont have the slot for the aerial. Hmmm i'd rather not make the reception any worse

It sounds like your glovebox probably needs adjusting then, It should just push gently shut.
Just shows we all have different priorities. I cant say I know how good or bad the reception has been in any of my Astons. In nearly 9 years of ownership I bet I havent had the radio on for even 30mins.
The outdoor cover I had from https://www.specialisedcovers.com/car-covers/ for my 2006 coupe had a velcro fastened slot for the antenna. Not sure if its still in their design. I have one of their outdoor covers for my 2012 Roadster, but of course no external antenna.

I wouldn't worry about radio reception, you won't use it. I know I haven't in the time I've had my car and I try to drive mine most weeks/weekends even just for a small trip out.
We need pictures of the car though.

I've only had my 2011 Vantage just over a month so I know what you mean!I also had a problem closing the glovebox until I realised how carefully the handbook needed to be inserted. Maybe you've got the same issue? Try closing the glovebox when it's empty then you'll know

1. Push it closed but the owners handbook is a tight fit to the glove box, ow er misses.I had 2 questions to ask..

2. Stubby aerial, loads available on ebay, cut hole in a tennis ball, fit tennis ball over the aerial, fit cover over top of the ball. Just stops the aerial puncturing the cover. Don't forget to remove tennis ball before you drive away otherwise you will look a bit of a k**b with a yellow tennis ball stuck to the roof.
Can be useful to have it in the car. I tend to just wedge mine behind the passenger seat.
When I had my tyres changed I left it out and open on the page where it mentions the correct jacking points to use. There have been some horror stories of chassis rails being deformed and cars written off when jacked up incorrectly, so better safe than sorry!

Congrats on taking the plunge. I still stare at mine even though I've had it 5 years, and think the 05-18 Vantage is one of the top 5 most beautiful cars ever made. As has already been mentioned, its good to keep the manual in the glove box if ever you or anyone else unexpectedly needs to know how to jack, locate the battery, fuses etc. It does fit, you just have to angle it slightly before closing.
As they were in production, continuously evolving and developing but with the basic design fundamentally unchanging for 13 years, the early cars can be genuinely upgraded with goodies developed either by specialists or by Aston themselves for the later cars, so a world of improved clutches, manifolds, mild or serious engine tuning, suspension, brakes, tyres, body kits, cf bits etc awaits if you one day wake up and decide that the glorious noise and supermodel looks are no longer enough
