Funds sent to closed account

I paid an annual web hosting bill by bank transfer to the usual bank account only to find the payee (sole trader) had closed the account. I paid him again (£370), expecting the money to come winging back to me but it hasn't and it seems the guy was overdrawn when he closed the account.


So, can I/how do i get my money back?

How did you “pay him again”?

Might be worth contacting him direct. If an account was *moved*, then the money should have found his new account.....if it was just closed....hmmm....maybe follow https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/how... - contact your bank and cite “misdirected payments”

Can the bank keep the funds to set off against the guy's debt?
In that case, as far as you are concerned you have already paid him so no need to get the money back.
