Helping picking Car £5k to £10k for friend
Discussion
Hi, a friend knows I am into cars and has asked for some help picking a new car for his wife. I don’t know much about these sort of cars so thought I would ask for some help!
His criteria is as follows:
Automatic
Parking sensors
High seat position
Reliability
ULEZ compliant
Boot space
Reasonably roomy back seat.
For local driving mostly
He is looking to spend circa £5k without having to borrow so that is his ideal but is happy to borrow a few thousand etc for the right car.
He says they will do circa 5k miles a year, there are four of them in the family so needs to be able to accommodate them all etc.
Any suggestions greatly received!

Most "normal" cars will fit that brief. And there is nothing wrong with a normal car- I dont think you can get a bad car these days...
The korean compsnies will have something suitable with a warranty remaining. Or go to a car supermarket and choose the one they like in the colour they like. They will all be fine.

Had a similar criteria for my wife recently, although she wanted manual and a budget of £4k ish.
Looked at everything and went for a 2011 Citroen C4 1.6 vti Exclusive. Found a one owner, immaculate car in top spec and we're delighted with it. For the money it's hard to beat, it's nippy, stylish, got loads of toys, super comfy and feels like a brand new car.
