I have a room in the house where the WiFi is very weak (2 solid brick walls in the way). I do have a wired ethernet connection in there though which gets full speed from my sky router/modem thing. I use a tp link SL1005D ethernet switch to turn the one ethernet plug into 4 ports.

This means my 2 computers in there work perfectly but my phone WiFi connection is rubbish.

Can I use this in a remaining port to "re broadcast" WiFi for my phones?

If not, what else can I buy?

Yep that should be fine, just make sure to set it up as an AP (access point).

On the same site(or others), search for access point - as above, that's the name of the piece of hardware you're looking for.

What you've linked will be fine, although potentially overkill; it's a wireless router than can act as an access point.

What you've linked will work, but is really small for use when staying in hotels or similar, and isn't the fastest thing in the world.

Depending on how fast you want the wifi for your phones to be (and how fast your broadband is) there could be better choices, albeit less compact - I have the predecessor of that device and it's pretty much matchbox sized.

For twenty quid I've ordered it and we'll see what it's like. Didn't want to spend £100+ unless I really have to.
