Theon Design on Carfection
Discussion
Nicely shot video from Carfection about Theon Design. Shame they overplayed the background music as much - not normally Carfections style.

Slightly different approach to the restomod trend from Theon. Not sure the about the execution of the exterior design myself.
Think I would commission a 964 build that upgraded all the mechanicals but used carbon fibre panels that replicated the 964s original design, also keeping the interior aesthetic the same but retrimmed to be lightweight in an attempt to get too 1000kgs.
What are your thoughts on Theons direction?

Agree totally. When the restomodding thing took off, it made sense to use the 'cheap unloved' relatively modern 964 as a base.
Now that the 964 has established it's classic status, for me, it would make more sense for restomodding to upgrade the car with modern components, respecting its original aesthetic and focussing on weight and poise rather than outright power and 70s throwback looks.
It's a gorgeous thing though

Yeh it looks to be well executed by Theon. For me, I’m just not sure about the juxtaposition of classic styling with then modern elements like carbon fibre on show. Just jars in my eyes.
Was interesting that Henry likened it to a house that’s been renovated. You see it a lot in architecture where an old house has been extended with a very modern all glass style structure. Which in some cases does really work. Just not sure for me, that design theory transfers to cars. But I do like that Theon have approached the restomod from a different angle.
If I had £300k and was considering a Singer, would definitely be worth speaking to them as it looks like they would accommodate your brief and perhaps could change the elements that weren’t to your taste.
But it’s still a lot of money. I think for that amount I would buy a 964 and do some light mechanical upgrades for my daily. Then find a pre 1965 with FIA papers for my classic fix and go and fund some classic racing with the change!
