Model Car Kit - Restoration

Hi, I’ve uncovered an old model car kit I built in my youth.
I’m thinking of giving it a makeover.
I never painted the body originally, it’s white and yellowed badly. Is it ok to spray with automotive type paints, plastic primer, base, laquer etc?

I’m fairly sure the plastic is polystyrene.

Also, where can I get hold of some clear Perspex like material to remake the glass windows?

halfords acrylic sprays are usually fine ..dont use cellulose

ebay will sell you some clear sheet
