Keeping them clean is definitely manageable.
My aircraft had glass touch screens in the cockpit and hating oily fingerprints on them I just used a stylus. Problem solved. They also had an anti glare coating which made them easy to read under any conditions. A microfiber cloth is also a must for the dust.

I am afraid it just feels like technology for the sake of technology.
I have to believe the cost to replace, chance of failure, and impact on the environment must all be higher than the analogue dials for say a DB5 through to the DB9/vanquish era - all of which look far more classy than this.
What it makes you realise is that the stuck on iPad screen truly was the half pregnant phase.
Take a look at the 911, that also looks a real mess in my opinion with all the digital screens.
I realise this makes me sound like a dinosaur, but these are all good reasons for me not to buy a new car, and stick with the ones I have until I (or they) are forced off the road.

It's not a look that makes me want to go out and buy the car. Finger prints drive my OCD mad, it's the younger element that I guess like them. All started by Tesla really, the need for a tablet stuck to the dash. Most don't even look integrated so give Merc some kudos for making it look as though they tried.
Drove a recent Jag XF about a year ago and had to go through screen menus just to turn on the heated seat function. It's crazy, no reason this and other functions can't be a dial or button without having to be integrated into something else in the name of fashion.

Totally agree. Utter madness. I think there is no place in a car for touch screens - especially for controls such as heaters / radio etc. You will never beat the safety and confidence of proper old fashioned haptic controls that do not require taking your eyes off the road while in motion.
