I’m looking at a Carrera with an alligator leather strap with clasp. However I have child like wrists and normally need 4 links taken off my tag bracelets.

I’m a bit nervous about the strap being too big or looking daft if the adjustment required means that the clasp will be way off centre.

Do any skinny wristed folk have any experience of Tag leather straps?

I would normally try on in the jewellers but obviously can’t at the moment.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is it a deployant or traditional buckle?

I have a Monaco with a deployant and fairly small wrists - and it's fine.

There is a fair bit of excess strap around the inside, but it can be trimmed off if it bothers you.

Thanks, it’s a deployant. My concern is that will the clasp not be way off centre if I adjust it so much?

Here is mine. Adjustment comes from one side.

I would buy with the stainless and then buy a strap that suits your needs. The stainless is a lot more than the leather to buy as an extra but the second hand values don’t show the same spread.

Thanks, that’s helpful. Have done a bit of research today and talked myself out of the leather strap. Will be following your advice and purchasing on a bracelet. Cheers

No problem. I made the mistake of buying on the leather strap and have not worn the watch as much as I would if I had gone Stainless. Since buying this Tag I have bought and sold an IWC which I used as an every day beater before taking it for a services and it coming back brand new. I could not do that with the leather strap.

I wear a Planet Ocean co-axil or an Apple watch now as my daily. The Planet Ocean is much more robust than the apple watch. I keep the Tag for fair weather special occasions.

Steveo Straps made me a deployant strap for my wife’s Tag. It’s utterly excellent and the cost was very reasonable.

Did you order a clasp only or clasp+strap?

There is a deployment clasp they sell for just over a tenner which looks similar to the style Tag use on some of their watches. I have an older Carrera classic on bracelet but always wanted a black leather strap though not willing to pay £200 for the TAG oem clasp and with skinny 6 inch wrists same predicament as OP worrying the clasp position will look strange.
