Cayenne facelift - ordering date
Discussion
Hello,
We're considering placing an order for a Cayenne and can see from the motoring press that the facelift is not far away.
Previous timing would indicate that 4 years is the point they release them.. so 2022-ish, hence would an order be placed mid 2021, or nearer end 2021? Would this be called an MY23?
Interested in others' thoughts. The idea is to not place an order for an existing one, only for the facelift to appear next month!
Cheers
Ben

Impossible to say...talk to your OPC. Cayenne is a high volume model so I doubt ordering times are that long. Also depends which one you order....as OPC’s have different build slot availability for each model. They don’t get 20 Cayenne’s they can order each month and spec for any particular model....they get a specific allocation for each derivative.
Your biggest problem will be that your OPC probably won’t have a clue when the facelift is coming....they won’t know until a few months before. They should be able to put you in the queue though.

There isn't any delay with build slots for any model in my local OPC and they've advised an order now will be 6 months delivery.
The OPC don't know / can't confirm anything about facelifts, but of course they would like us to place an order.
We have had our existing Cayenne for 11 years, hence are considering we will have the new one for a similar length of time and so aren't in a rush, but it's getting a view on how long it may be as it'd be a little annoying if we order one and then the facelift turns up the next month!

Looking at the panamera facelift, I doubt there’s much of a change coming, some minor bodywork and ghats probably about it.
Might be worth hanging on if you were dead set on Porsche innodrive as that’s not available for the cayenne at the moment - I gather due to issues with capacitative steering wheel supply. The e-hybrid already has the updated battery for example.
Rumours I’ve heard are properly vague and range from a 2022 facelift available from September to a year or more wait for the 2023 model.
You’re dammed off you do and dammed if you don’t......
