in the market for a macan s 17ish plate
doing my research into these timing cover issues and the transfer box issues and the mechanical fuel pump
does anyone know if all the bolts are reachable without engine out and is possible to change the aluminium bolts to prevent this issue in the future?
anyones thoughts on this

My one gts ended up having to have a new timing chain tensioner and something replaced on the gearbox / transfer box. I wouldn’t run one without a warranty, both faults happened around 20k miles. I owned it from new and never drove it hard. doing my research into these timing cover issues and the transfer box issues and the mechanical fuel pump

In all fairness apart from these two faults the car was excellent.
I'm going to be selling my 2018 Turbo PP soon, with much regret. I would also not run without a warranty.
In answer to the OP's question I had the transfer box and a cam timer replaced due to a misdiagnosis - in fact the downpipe needed replacing (there's a concertina section which had seized and caused resonance). None of that was engine out, and all was pretty quick to do.

WeI own a 2018 Macan Turbo PP....it’s a brilliant car. I would indeed regret having to sell ours ! If I was on the market for a Macan I’d buy an older ore-facelift car. I’ve driven plenty of both...the only difference is a wider SatNav screen and the rear light bar. Save some money and get an older car 100%.

It's not all bad, it's to make way for a 718 Spyder
All subjective of course, but I think the light bar looks pretty awful on the Macan - the tailgate / rear light shape clearly were not made for it. I really like it in other applications.
