I'm looking for information to help me maintain my 400SE. Does anyone have "TVR Wedges: Maintenance" by Steve Heath. If so can you recommend it ?

Ta,

Dave.

Yes I've gfot and it seems good, unfortunalty no car to try it out on .

However, almost everyone on here who does have it, with a car to practise on, universally sings its praises .

I would be surprised if anybody here didn't have it. It's generally refered to as the bible, for obvious reasons.

There was supposed to be a copy with my 390; however it mysteriously disappeared in transit and has never made it to me.
So I might be the one person here without a copy...

Mr Heath told me that it's also worth getting a haynes manual for Rover SD1 and Cortina Mk4

Think I better nip down to IKEA and get a bookshelf, anyone tried getting flat-pack selfs in a 400 boot?

I have a 3-way folding 13 foot ladder that will sit on the passenger seat of the 390...
It was possible to get 8 foot lengths of wood etc. in the Tasmin without too much trouble....

You could strap it to the rear spoiler. Shouldn't mess up the aerodynamics too much.
Shame you havn't got a seac I heard you could get a 3 piece suite on there easy!
Gareth.

With a 3 piece suite and a couple passengers strapped to the back, I recon I could pop a wheelie ?

It's worth taking a look at :

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Peter_Beech/TVR/Index.htm

This is for the Griff / Chimp but shares many of the same features... and it's free.

Oh what features are they?

Suspension is different. So are the brakes, drive train, wiring, body work, interior, wheels, cooling system, instrumentation, fuel injection systems, service schedules and so on.

The engines do both have 8 cylinders and so on. In reality there is little in common with these cars once you get over the engine and even that is debateable. The Wedges are pretty unique and have far less in common with Griffi and the S series than you would at first think.

Potential loss-of-sale situation nicely countered there!

I can't vouch for the wedges, but I have the bible for the S series (2nd edition) and it's a winner. The only mistake I made was buying the car before the book!
