Enjoyed that, thanks for posting. Interesting about the lateral G the new car pulls. Again those tyres are a massive contribution. Wonder what time the original 996 would do now on similar tyres with WR driving?

Also interesting to note in these marketing videos they always say the newest car is their favourite. Wonder which one it really is.. Maybe not even a Porsche smile

That would be really interesting the 996 on cup 2’s

Looks aside The 992really does sound like a amazing machine as all the GT cars are. Yeah I totally agree on the latest is best. There must be a favourite one where it really was a huge jump forward but as you say it’s marketing

Can’t wait for more reviews

I think AP has said the 4.0 RS, 991.2 GT2 RS and 991.2 Touring are his favourites....but clearly that may change smile Although he loves American muscle cars too,

I find it amazing that someone like Top Gear doesn’t do a comparison of the latest tyres on older cars....Cup 2 R on a 918 Spyder for instance. Much has been written about how newer rubber transformed the CGT as an example.

Would be great advertising for Michelin !

I can imagine Porsche etc would never allow it. Could prove embarrassing how much the gap is narrowed on the newer stuff. A potential marketing nightmare. Would be great to see though smile

Thread here on Rennlist which seems fairly detailed....someone lapped 1.8 secs quicker on a 4km lap. Nurburgring is 20 kn track so simplistically that’s a 9 second improvement on the ‘ring.

The R spec Cups are about 7 seconds faster on the 'Ring as it favours power rather than ulimte grip in more places compared to a normal shorter track with much lower highest speeds.
