I don’t begrudge her at all.

She built up the family business to the size it is now.

No different than anyone else who spends money on things they enjoy.

Are you stupid and gullible for buying a £4 pint when the same costs £.50 in the shop, or paying £100 for a meal that costs £10 in ingredients, or paying £100 for a football ticket when you can watch the game for free?

They provide an entertainment service, entertainment generally isn’t free.

Fair play to her for taking the risk and heavily gearing the business towards the internet 15+ years ago!

I might have been referring to Stoke fans...

And pays her taxes even though she could easily use billionaire loopholes to avoid it, but she likes to play it straight.

Isn’t this just Capitalism?

If people don’t like it, they can always move to a communist state.

It's an obscene amount of money, but as I have never given bet365 a penny, I couldn't give two hoots.

She may be worth mega millions but she is still from the five towns.
Does it get to a point and you don’t need the money?

Is she meant to close the business down and make her thousands of staff redundant?

Fair play to her. Done well to build the business to the size it is and pays the tax she is due.

Exactly, how many people would be running the empire from Monaco by now?

I think its incredible tbh. good luck to her and as the father of a girls i can only dream of them being as successful.

If people choose to gamble thats their choice. And either way should she just shut shop? they will just go elsewhere.

Ridiculous comment from the High pay centre bloke

article said:
“It’s appallingly inefficient for single individuals to hoard wealth in this way when fairer systems of taxation could mean the wealth is instead used to support better public services or raise living standards for low- and middle-income earners.”
Does he really think she keeps the money under her mattress?

It always puzzles me when the likes of Warren Buffet (sic) gets praised for living frugally whilst being the World's Richest Man - we want rich people to be spunking their money away so that us little people can get a slice of it.

It looks like the lady from Bet365 is happy to take a large salary and pay taxes, which should be encouraged. I'm sure she could quite easily decide to not take a salary and live off savings and keep her wealth in shares in the company and not pay any tax.

Runs a highly successful company, stays in the UK, pays her taxes straight and fairly and on top of that donates millions to charities yet still the moaners are out there!

When you cry about companies such as Amazon and Starbucks not paying their fair share of tax you ought to keep quiet about those who do. If they're damned if they do and damned if they don't they're more likely stick two fingers up at you and exploit the loopholes available to them!
