Just bought a new Note 20 Ultra direct from Samsung. The box arrived with an unbroken seal. However, when I opened it I noticed there was no protective film on the screen and the screen had numerous greasy smudges on it. I’ve never had a new phone without a protective screen cover (My note 8 certainly did).
I’ve then done a battery health check and it shows that the battery only has 95% life and a capacity of 4153mAh of 4370mAh rather than the claimed 4500mAh. I keep my phones for four years, so its not much good to me if the battery is already compromised.
So my question is, If you’ve bought a note 20 Ultra, did it come with a screen cover on it? Would you be suspicious that this phone has been used.

What does it say in the uptime log in settings? I think this can be defeated but it may have been overlooked and still have a time in there.
Refurb shops will have a cellophane machine

It's saying 4hrs which would probably equate to the screen time since i got it. but my four year old Note 8 is saying 26hrs, which is clearly wrong
It had a film on the back but not the screen

Just to reiterate. This came direct from Samsung. The Samsung call centre has been useless, hard to understand and just said there's no one to talk and we'll get in touch in the future.
It doesn't even show the order in my account.

It's probably just a failure of their QC process to allow it out of the door without it being clean and protected.

Hopefully some other owners can chime in with their battery data.

How do you get the battery data? Do I need an app?

To check the health and cycle count, download "Phone Info Samsung" by vndnguyen from the Play Store, open the "personal" tab and tap several times on the "usage history" text until it shows the battery health (cycles are shown by default

Wife's Note 20 Ultra came with a screen protector. You should be able to return it to Samsung for free if you have any doubts.

Thanks. It's saying the phone'build date was 18th March. If that's correct it can't have been refurbed. Odd that it had no screen cover and was covered in marks.
I'm more concerned about the battery showing iit's already lost nearly 10% of it's capacity.

Not all batteries are born equal. I think the figure they quote for battery size is approximate.

Does it definitely not have a protector?

My 10+ had a very hard to see/feel one on.
